Hello,

since update from 4.9.40 to version 5.5.0 FTP connection via HTTP-Proxy does not work anymore. Error message: (No such host is know)

"Unhandled FTP login error: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No such host is known

is received. It seems that VC is not using the proxy!
Please help.

Regards.

Seems like a DNS resolution error rather than proxy error. Are you using an IP on the proxy settings?

I tried hostname and ip for the proxy setting aswell as for the ftp-server. At all cases it is not connecting! With VC 4.9.40 there is no problem connecting the ftp-server.

Thanks, for your quick respsonse.
Now i can logon, but i can not download anything:

250 CWD command successful.

TYPE A
200 Type set to A.

PASV
227 Entering Passive Mode (xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,118,43).

LIST
425 Can't open data connection.

I tried "Use proxy for data-channel" switch on / off in Proxy-Settings. "Data Connection Type" is set to PASV, the encryption options are not checked.
At VC 49.40 the "Data Connection Type" is also set to PASV and transfer is working.

PS: The "Explorer" feature in connection settings is still not working (error msg: no such host)

We use NetCache v6.0.5 as HTTP Proxy.

Please this version which has exposed some new settings:

1. Check "Use proxy for data channel" in proxy settings
2. Uncheck "Automatically adjust passive..." in Extra settings of the connection

Please let us know if this works better.
