Please do consider the following new feature in a future release.
When a task completes, in the task flow section - task flow control, have an option to store a value to a variable.
Example...
In the flow screen - on success or error or completed,
in the task flow control section, go to the next task (or jump to a specific task, etc) AND store a value to a variable
