Hello,

After having spent hours to get it work, can someone help me ?
I've got a fresh install of client and server, I'm able to send message to a private queue, I'm able to configure the trigger (the queues are correctly retrieved), but, even if the trigger is active, when I send a message to the queue (with a powershell script), the trigger is not fired.

How does it work ?

Thanks a lot.

I suggest adding screenshot of the message (in Windows) to confirm queue and screenshots of the Trigger and add them here.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.

To be complete, it works if the server and the client are on the same machine. But the server has to get the queue of another host.
To test, I install server+client on machine frcda-v010. After some tricks, it works.
Another test consist to call the frcda-v010 queue from the real server (visualcron).

In fact, I've got no message, the queue isn't just read.

Can you tell me how to post screenshots ?

Thanks.

If you save the screenshots to file (suggest using free tool Jing) you can click on the attach button to a post.

Are you sure you do not have any errors related to MSMQ Trigger. Because if no, and still active, it seems it works, at least in the place it is looking at. I have a vague memory about Journal settings on the queue so you might want to try to change that.

The trigger is active
4-trigger1.png
pointing to the right queue
5-trigger2.png
The trigger is active in the list
6-job1.png
I run the job to pass the trigger to active in the job list
7-joblist.png
But, when I send a message to the queue, it is not read :
8-message_queue.png
and there's no added trigger to the queue (i think the other one are comming from the local server)
9-message_triggers.png

Are there any acl to create for accessing a queue from another host (i.e. accessin frcda-v010 queues from visualcron) ?

Thanks

Hi,

Has anyone any idea ?

When I'm using localhost, anything work fine. But when I use another host (even the localhost, just by setting a name), the queue is not read.

How can I read the queue ?

Thanks.

I was asking about Journal message before. It could be some messages types not being publicly readable because of "journal" type.

Hi Henrik,

Except the message I send, no other one are queued in the journal queue.
But, good news (😒 ), there are errors in vcr8 log.
I made an export that I attached.

Thanks.

I am suspecting a problem with the Queue. But please do the following;

1. turn on Extended debugging in Server settings->Log
2. update this build: https://www.visualcron.c....aspx?g=posts&t=8121
3. edit the Trigger (make sure it is active)
4. send a message
5. send us the log file again after that

Thanks, please redownload this and test the same: https://www.visualcron.c....aspx?g=posts&t=8121

We only need file log_serverDATE.txt

On a side note we saw another error i the log which is related to database logging. Do you use External or Internal database logging in Server settings->Log?

If External, please tell us:

1. what kind of database and connection string do you use?
2. in the table GeneralLogs, do you have a column called ServerId?

Hello Henrik,

I downloaded the new version and did the previous action : the trigger can not be activated.
I join the logs.

Concerning the database, I'm using the internal one.

Thanks.

It seems to be some kind of permission error reading the Queue. Does it work with public queues?

Henrik,

Unfortunatly, the machine is in a domain and only domain admin can create public queues. So I can't create public queues.
Sorry.

I'm searching for the error
