Sorry for asking an obvious questios, but...

I am trying to access files in a copy taks on a remote windows server. I am using a standard UNC path (\\rackweb1\LogFiles) and my credentials appear correct. When I test the task, I get "access to path \\rackweb1\LogFiles is deined.I am sure I am missing something obvious.

The actual test does not use the Credentials at the moment. We will add this soon and I am moving this to Feature requests.

The Test tab is not the same as testing the Job. Do you have problems when running the Job?

Yes. I get a similar error when I run any job that attempts to access a windows file share.

For example, here is an error from a Read file task.

10/20/2009 3:32:32 PM Err Exception in Task: Access to the path '\\rackweb1\LogFiles\AdvisorPortal.log.1' is denied.

Thanks,

Chuck

More info.

I just tried a copy task and I can copy TO the remote location (\\rackweb1\temp). However when I try to copy from or read from the remote location with the same credentials, I get the error.

Have you tried reading another file - perhaps the file is locked in some way?

I have no idea what I was doing wrong, but after trying things again today with a clear head and a fresh set of eyes, everything is working fine.

Sorry to trouble you.
