I created a job (trigger) that print filss inside a folder.
I can see the job running, i also see that the document is going to the printer queue but nothing is printed.
The printer is a Canon MF8500C Series.
The documents that need to be printed is a pdf file.

When create a test document with word i get the following error:
Exception in Task: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {000209FF-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

Are you using 8.2.7? Because we use a new component for printing there.

Just to rule out any path and permission issues, can you please try:

1. create a new Job
2. add a new print Task with hardcoded path to a local pdf

Also when trying to print a doc, docx, xls or xlsx file we get a error:
Exception in Task: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {000209FF-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

This is different. You talked about PDF first. All other document types require that you have Office installed locally. And also Office install needs to be the right architecture (32 or 64 bit).

Aha ok, i was not aware of.
However this particular document is a pdf file.
I was just testing if this would work.

But did you perform the tests:

Just to rule out any path and permission issues, can you please try:

1. create a new Job
2. add a new print Task with hardcoded path to a local pdf

It does not make sense as this error is related to Office products. What operative system and architecture are you testing on?

Henrik,

I think it is a miscomunication.
The error:

Also when trying to print a doc, docx, xls or xlsx file we get a error:
Exception in Task: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {000209FF-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

I get when trying to print doc or xls files (just to test what it does).
When printing pdf files, no error, it just sends them to the print queue ( i can see) but it does not print.

This is what I thought. The COM error is because no Office installed.

If in print queue for PDF then maybe system administrator needs to investigate why it is not printed as it has left VisualCron control in that moment.

Henrik,

I am the administrator.
A test print does work, when i open the pdf and print it, it also works.
But when automated by viscial cron it does not.

But if it is in the spool there must be some more information about the status of the item in the spool?

Oh, not sure what it can be but probably you can get the status from the spool if not printing.
