I like to have an option to copy a file into the same directory to a different name.

Could be an addition to the copy task to include a destination name..

or

Could be an addition to the rename task by not deleting the source file.

Thanks,
Erik

I still want to have this...😊

This request is like a rename + copy combined.
The two possible ways of solving this is mentioned in the 1st post.

Am I the only one here who wants this?

Why do I need this? I have a file which I want to modify, but I also want to keep the original. So I want to copy the file to a file with .ori as extra extention and work with the other one.

I can solve this though in VC at the moment by copying the file in another folder, rename that file and copy that file back to the original folder.
This is a lot of work for making a copy from a file with a different name in the same folder.

..or..

By using a execute task and use the DOS COPY command who can do this for me.

So I hope to see this in a next version of VC.

Erik

We have added this for version 5.8.0. Hopefully we will release a beta in some days.
