Last week we had a strange issue with a visual cron job not able to run a batch job successfully.

The VC job is configured to execute a batch file that runs a executable with parameters.

The batch file runs fine when run manually but not producing the results when conigured in VC.

The same job runs on a different server without any issues.

We are unable to rule out the cause for this issue.

Any suggestions is appreciated.

What kind of error do you get?

Visual cron job completes fine but the executable crashes.

In these cases the problem is about 90% of permissions. Perhaps you are using no or the wrong Credential? Perhaps you can find more information in the event log of the unhandled crash.

I find it strange that it crashes but VisualCron reports success. Are you preventing any errors in "On error" or is it not a "real" crash?

No, we are having several jobs that are created identically and running fine. This particular job runs fine in other servers also. Manual execution from the command prompt works fine. We have set the correct crdentials as all the batch jobs use a particulat credential. We did not do something to stop output errors.

Perhaps you are referring to a network drive that does not exist in this Server (in VC)

1. Does it work if you run it as a foreground Task?
2. Do you have the source for the .exe?
3. Is it possible to run the .exe from here for testing?
