Dear Support,

Is it possible to provide a solution to the problem whereby remote file triggers are being disabled if the VC server is unable to contact the remote server for any reason, i.e. a reboot.

I am having problems with jobs not running because Triggers are being switched off and the admin team are not advised.

Could we

1) Send an email to the support email address (as defined in Server / Settings / Email) when this occurs.

2) Show a different "Status Image" on a job if VC disables a trigger.

Thanks in advance.

1. I agree, we have thought about this, adding a Trigger "System alerts" which Triggers on internal events in VisualCron.

A Trigger being deactivated could be a good addition - do you have any more suggestions?

2. Yes, a new image might be good. Trigger status. Showing if Triggers are on, off or non-existing.

Hi Support,

1) Yes,

- any system generated errors which would be missed by normal job/task level processing.
- Low diskspace on install drive. (as per previous email on creating task).
- Low diskspace on target drive of task, don't know if this would currently cause an issue.
- VC Service status change.
- Trigger non-existent, deactivated etc.
- Unable to connect to a "connection", i.e. SMTP server.

The big issue for me is disabled triggers, this is not the first time this has caused us problems.

Not if some of the above are already picked up at job/task level, but I would consider them to be high-level alerts which should go back to admin/Helpdesk etc.

I like this as well. I like to see some kind of notification, email would be nice, when a trigger stops working.
Uses Visualcron since 2006.

The idea is that this should be a normal Trigger so you can use any Task; Email, File etc to react on the event.

1. You mean that the idea is a new trigger what will be triggered when a trigger is disabled?

or

2. Very trigger has an option to do something when it is going to a disabled status?

Number 1 might be easier to implement.

Does anyone know where this stands? We'd also like to see an e-mail notification if a trigger has been disabled.

Hi,

I am experiencing this very same issue and am wondering whether this has been addressed in a later release yet. Thanks.

We have not yet done anything here. We will instead prioritize to provide functionality to notify you when this happens.

Ok, yes a notification would satisfy my requirements as well. Is there a timeframe for when this will be completed? Thanks.

All I can say is that it has high priority. Withing 2 months I would guess.

Checkout this version: http://www.visualcron.co....aspx?g=posts&t=1180

We have added some internal events to the VisualCron Trigger. Let us know if you are missing anything.
