When I try to read a syslog event from a remote server, I specify the server but when I hit Ok to save job. It does not save Remote server name.

Which version are you running?
Are you talking about the field "Host:"?

Field Remote under Scope for the Event log - Read task.

I looked inside the job.xml file and i see this:

<EventLogRead>
<Scope>Remote</Scope>
<HostName />

Even if i include the <HostName>COMPUTER, and save the job.xml ... it still deletes the hostname.

You cannot edit the file directly. The file is only saved to - not loaded when changed.

Please add a video (maybe using the free tool Jing) to display that you cannot save the value in the Client properly.
