I have a task that should compress files on a remote machine... \\bigsql1\SQL exchange\client\out\archive\*.txt I have the file inclusions setup and the archive location set to \\bigsql1\SQL exchange\client\out\archive\clientout.zip . The job runs successfully but doesn't create the archive file... I have the files set to be deleted after they are archived and that part works... but the darn archive isn't created. To eliminate any questions about security I've tried creating the archive on the visualcron server and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

If you turn on Extended debugging in Server settings. Run the Job and then look at the Log window. Do you see any errors there?

I don't see anything that's raising an error during the task execution. I do see a message at the end that says "Job process was aborted by user."

I just purchase the app and installed the latest version from the website... 4.9.40.

It would be really interesting if you used the latest 5.0.5. from the beta forum to see if that works better for you.

ugh, I purchased the app so I could have a stable solution for file handling... I guess I'll try the beta version.

I understand. I would say version 5 is the most stable version. The main reason for running version 5 is that it is easier to debug what is going wrong.

error message:
"Error in CompressZipFolder, ex: System.ArgumentException: The relative name is empty or contains only whitespace.
Parameter name: relativeName
at Xceed.FileSystem.AbstractFolder.GetFolder(FileSystemEvents events, Object userData, String relativeName)

For troubleshooting purposes I currently have Archive Path set to: C:\clientout.zip

Could you export your settings for this particular Job and send to support@visualcron.com?

Please try removing the last back slash in the folders you want to compress. We will remove it automatically for next version.

That worked... When you guys fix that you'll probably want to handle values with and without the trailing backslash... Thanks.

I agree. We will fix that for next version.
