Here's a tip for reliable and super fast zipping of large folders.

Using the built-in ZIP task I had issues with ZIP files failing, being corrupted, or the VC server crashing. Also the zip was taking 4 hours to complete. (This is on the older VC 6.2.2).

So I bought the latest WinZip, installed it on the server, and downloaded the free WinZip command line. Then created a standard Execute task, calling the WinZip command line. The crashes are gone and the zip completes in 20 minutes! Bonus: You can optionally see the WinZip output right in the VC task output.
