I have a task set up to email a user an Internet Shortcut link within the body of the email task, using the html. All works well except the fact that when the user gets the email the shortcut file name in the body just shows the name of the file, minus the extension and not a hyperlink. Is there something in Visual Cron i am not doing? I can't send it as an attachment as our email server blocks it.

Please post the body in an attached text document and we will test here.

Thanks for the quick reply...there is no other body in the email except:

Quote:

Profit-Loss -2012 Summary

I need it to be a link where when clicked on it opens a url to display a report. In the legacy software where i can manually email the link it shows in the emaail body with the name, but it is underlined so i can click and open. I am trying to automate emailing and vcron is the best solution. I know not much info for the body, but it is quite simply the name of the file.

Ex: Profit-Loss -2012 Summary

I just mean that I want the exact body you use in text (so it is not formatted by forum - so we can test it).

There is no other text in the body...the only thing i want showing in the body is the linked file...i also tried placing it in the subject of the email but obyained the same result as the body, just a file name with no action available to click and launch...basically just text. I attached a screen shot of the html in the email task
File Attachment(s):
Doc1.doc (87kb) downloaded 54 time(s).

So, what I am searching for is the source. I am not interested in how it looks but the source you use in the body.

In this case I am especially interested in how you write the link.

Not 100% what you are doing and how it will work. For example, you have a method receiving the file name? What is the purpose of that method? The actual path will be ignored and not used for anything as it is translated to the name in the VisualCron Server.

I have a reporting tool that when runs exports a internet shortcut to a specified file location. When the file is pushed to that location i have set up vcron event file trigger to email the file to specified users. The file type is an Internet shortcut that when clicked on will launch the said report in a web browser..this is what the url of the file looks like(under properties) i am trying to include this file in the body of the email.

Ok, it is not possible to include that way. I am not sure how but I am very sure that that will not work.
