Hi,

I've upgraded my VC installation from 5.6.9 to 5.7.3. After that, all the jobs that have a DTS task are failing. First, I've found out that the credential I use for running the DTS had the password cleared, I don't know the reason.
After fixing the password issue, the error is
"Execption in Task: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied."

The DTS task is running a DTS located in a database, not in a file.

Server is Windows 2K3 SP2, with a local installation of MSSQL 2000 SP4.

Any idea what's going on?

Thanks

The password is a new thing - and is the password for the package. You should leave this blank. What error do you get with the blank password?

Hi there,

Same error. Just one point. The credential I use is the domain account of a user.
Apart of the password being cleared, the domain information was blank too.

The error without password (and domain) is "Exception in Task: Login failed for user 'srvintegraapp'."

Thanks

Not same error, obviously. My mistake.

Oh, sorry, I was not thinking about the password in the Credential. There is a separate password textfield, but that is for the SSIS Task. So, never mind my previous post.

Yes, you must use a password. Strange thing that it was cleared. I believe there is still an issue with the Credential. I would recreate the Task with a new Credential - just to confirm.

Hi again,

New job with new task and new credentials. And still same error ...
Should I downgrade the version?

If you can it would be great. Because if it works with previous version we need to look at any changes.

Hi again,

I've changed the execution of the DTS, so now it launches the .dts file instead of the DTS stored in the database. It's working fine now. So I can wait until you find out what changed in this new version.

Thanks!

I am attaching a new setup. Please test your DTS database package. If it does not work at once, then please try to uncheck "Use trusted connection" in DTS settings window. If it works right away, please check the same to see if that was the issue.

Sadly to say, still same result. With or without trusted connection.

Strange. That was the only change.

Perhaps your VisualCron server service did run as another user before? Now it is running as system.

No, it was and it is running as LocalSystem.
There's no way i can get the DTS working. I've tried every setting and still failing.

1. Just to confirm. User 'srvintegraapp' is a database user?
2. if it is a domain user, what happens if you set VisualCron service to run as srvintegraapp and check "Use trusted connection"?

Hi again,
srvintegraapp it's a domain user, local admin and a database login. And yes, running VC service with that account, with trusted connection, the DTS task is running!
Thank you very much!

Thanks for the info. We will make some changes so you don't have to have that service set as another user.
