Hi there,

We recently installed VC on one of our Windows 2008 servers. Up until today, it seemed to be running just fine. Today, however, the server crashed on multiple occasions ... literall, blue screen crashes. Not good. I wasn't sure what was going on, but one of our server techs reported it was likely due to VC. Here is the info I received from him:

No clue what any of this means ... but it does point to VC as the culprit. Has anyone heard of this type of thing happening? At this point, I'm inclined to uninstall the app until I can figure out what's going wrong.

Thanks,

Hi Kevin,

do you have any idea what has happening at that time? What kind of Task you are running etc.?

Which version are you running of VC right now?

At the time, there was only one task running. We were running a batch file to retrieve a file from a remote server, and copy/deploy it to our local servers. The app had been running fine for a few weeks. While probably not suspect, but worth noting, we just upgraded to the full, paid version late last week.

Since the crash, I updated from 5.5.5 (I believe) to 5.5.9. No crashes since. But yesterday, the server literally crashed (blue screen) 3 times within an hour. Very strange.

1. were your task running at that time?

We are investigating a similar issue and have prepared a special version for this:

http://neteject.com/down...lCron5.5.9-nocleanup.exe

If you already have 5.5.9. installed you need to uninstall it first then install this version. Your settings will remain.

Also, go to server settings->Log->Check "Extended debugging".

Please contact us on support@visualcron and we will track this case with priority there.
