Starting this week, all of the client only installs (for our support team) have started failing with the following message:
Title:
Connection Failed [server name]
Message:
Connection Failed to '[server name]'. Connection failed with error:
'More data was expected, but EOF was reached.'
Do you want to try connecting?
Yes/No

When accessing the software that is set up directly on the server, there isn't any issue. It's just the client level app access that is failing.

I see some reference on this forum, but the threads appear to have been removed. Anyone know what could be causing this?

I do not have any experience with a setup like yours but we do use the Web portal for some users to connect.

Have you tried to verify the port number you are using to connect to is valid AND that it is not being blocked by a firewall? IT Security can sometimes implement changes without saying anything since they would be unaware of you using an obscure port like 16444.

I would also suggest verifying your license count, that the versions match and that the user's access is correct. Also, are you connecting via IP address or server name? If you are trying to use DNS resolution that might be an issue too. Try just the IP address.

For fun I tested my local laptop (v9.4.5) to a server (v9.6.5) and just used the default login and I was able to connect without error

Good luck

Please send an email to our support with this, support@visualcron.com

I suggest you also try to connect via telnet from the client machine to the remote server, go to cmd from the client, type telnet serverip 16444
does it connect?
