Hi,
Went to upgrade to 5.8.1 this morning, and it grabbed 6.0.0 instead.
No problem, but then I see it's now at 6.0.1 for the current version.

Is there any difference between the two? Was it an installation bug that got fixed?

It sure would be nice if there was some backwards compatibility so I can see my 6.0.0 jobs on the 6.0.1 server.

Yes, there is a bug fixed and 6.0.1 is backwards compatible to 6.0.0

I'm getting a server protocol is obsolete message going from my 6.0.1 client to the 6.0.0 server.
(And it's also not connecting to my 5.8.0 servers, but I didn't really expect that.)

I'm not too worried about it, since I'll upgrade the other servers in the next day or two.

You are right. The protocol flag was changed, unintentionally.
