Hi, just a quick question. I know I can trigger a job on file create, rename, delete and change. But is there a way to trigger a job when a file is moved to a certain folder (not copied)?
Thanks

Hi Jan,

A file move consists of the folowing steps:

1) copy file from source to target location.
2) delete file from source location.

You can have a file create trigger on the target folder and have a condition on the source folder to see if the file is gone.

Regards
Erik
Uses Visualcron since 2006.

Thanks Erik. I think move detection should work if you use both Created and Changed watch type like this.

Thanks for the quick help. Unfortunately this does not work with me. I tried all combinations but the trigger keeps quite whenever I just move files instead of copy files. Well, I actually move a whole folder with files in it. However it works when I copy the whole folder but not when I move it.

We tested with Created+Changed and it worked. Are you sure you used the destination folder and not the source folder?

Ups, you were quick 😉 I actually move a whole folder with files in it. However it works when I copy the folder with the file in the destination folder but not when I move it.

It does not seem to work on whole folders. You need to move files only.

Unfortunately that's not an option for us. I'll see if I can work around it with Erik's approach. Any further ideas are welcome. Thanks.
