Is there a way to automate running the Visual Cron job report and have it emailed out once a day?

Not right now as it is not a Task. But you could use an email Notification and paste Variables of your Jobs there.

What we would like is to have jobs send notifications upon failure only, but a report sent daily with a summary of all the jobs and thier status. We are looking to replace a custom written legacy application that currently provides this functionality. Is the report exposed by the api? If so we could write something and schedule a visualcron job to run it.

8 year old post...it might be covered already in another way but since I cam across it I thought I would write a reply

This can be accomplished now with a Job Report task.

You can output to a printer, CSV, PDF or HTML file. You can pick as many or few jobs as you want and the tasks contained in them and output the results, last start, etc.
