Hi,
I have a problem with a SFTP task because it downloads the file but it can't write it into a share with everyone has modify permissions.
The share is created on a server into a different domain by the VC server, but if I try to explor the share from VC server I can write a file.
I don't understand why VC task fails with output error "Authentication failed!" and the task result is SUCCESS, I attach some screenshots.
Thank you.

When you manually do this you do this as your user. When you do it from VisualCron you are using SYSTEM account unless you specify a Credential. Try using the same user as you are logged in as Credential.

Another thing. The IP specified does not look like a local IP (in the same network). It might be - but it does not look like it.

Hi Henrik,
I am confirming that the VC server can connect to the share and it can write files and folders using explorer.exe; the share permissions are simply EVERYONE - MODIFY.
I tried also without VC credentials but I received the error message attached.
Thanks.

The VC server IP is 10.2.10.38 and the remote server IP is 172.16.18.14, they are in two different networks.
Thanks.

They must be in the same network for using the Credential. I guess you have setup a FTP connection in the explorer. VisualCron cannot use that.

OK, but if VC credentials don't work with different networks it means that if I use VLANs in my local network I can't use VC to move files?
I can not enable FTP service on remote server, are there others solutions?
Thank you.

Why do you not copy the files locally to the VisualCron server first? Then FTP to remote server location.

Thank you Henrik, it works if I copy the files locally before. I have always the output message Authentication failed!, why? And why is Vc FTP task result SUCCESS if the remote file is not present on FTP sever?
Thanks.

The error is shown when logging in the user specified in the Credential fails. It could be access for the domain that fails or that the username/password is wrong.

I use the same credential for others jobs and I don't have the error message, I don't know.
Last question: why does Vc FTP task result return "SUCCESS" if the remote file is not present on FTP sever?
Thanks.
