Great product but a steep learning curve!
Please advise me on the following:
I've got a job that syncs two FTP servers, renames some files with variables then uploads these files to different locations, waits for more files, then uploads these new files to other locations.
What I need help with is:
How do I make VC wait at say, task x, until y hour before it continues with that task and those that follow it? The reason is that some of the initial files I upload are changed by other processes after I upload them, returned to the my FTP a few hours later (with the original filename) and must then be sent on again. I know I can probably do this in 2 jobs or so, but I'd like to keep everything in one job. So, files get uploaded by task x, must wait until y hour, then run the rest of the tasks.
I'm trying by using a action/condition that waits y hours after the previous task return a VC exit code of 0 (I presume this to be successful?). I'll be testing this tonight, but would like advice if possible before then.
Is there another easier way of accomplishing this?
Some other questions I've got:
Instead of creating seperate tasks to delete different filetypes eg. *.csv, *.txt, can I specify them in one task? Eg. in the filemask specify "*.csv, *.txt, *.xls" etc.
Is there a way to clone tasks in a job? I know I can clone conditions but don't see the option to clone a task in a job.
Thanks in advance!
