Sure, this is my info:
1. Operative system. You seem to be running both 2003 and 2008 so it is probably not the OS itself that is special. Which Service pack and OS are you running?
I'm running W2K3 R2SP2 English versions. Some servers SE and other EE, all of them standalone servers working in a domain. Must say that the failing servers are running AMD processors, but I have another AMD processor server that it's not failing.
2. Have you performed all updates in the OS?
Regularly, maybe not the lastest but try to keep them up to date.
3. Which Task types are you running? Execute? Kill? SQL? Please write a summary.
All tasks are executing .bat files (with credentials) that launches other process (ERP tasks and SQL Jobs)
4. Please turn on extended debugging in server settings and also turn on logging to event log. Next time it happens compare the latest events in the event log with the latest events in log_serverDATE.txt log. Do you see any more events in the event log?
Ok, I will do it. Right now, I don't see any event in any logs.
5. At the time it hangs: Are you running any Jobs at that time?
No, for example yesterday it failed before the first nightly task.
6. Which antivirus do you have installed?
McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.5.0i, but services are disabled right now.
7. Anything special about other applications that are running on the server?
All of them are ERP servers, so main applications are the ERP and MS SQL 2000 and MS SQL 2008 databases (depending on server).
8. Anything else you can think of?
Not really, unless you need to know .Net Framework versions on each server.
9. Anything else happening in the event viewer at that "hang/freeze" time (at the time of last log event)?
Nothing recorded, nor in the application nor in the system event log.
If you need further info, let me know. I'm updating the server that failed yesterday right now.
