Today I lost all my jobs..... 😣

I was playing with the 'Start Guide' in the File menu. Changing Server and Client or Client Only settings a while, using next and previous buttons.

I saw this error:

Connection failed to 'localhost'. Connection failed with error 'Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified.'
Do you want to try reconnecting? Yes/No

Good thing there is a backup of everthing, so I have my settings back. No worries ✋ (Best feature ever!)

Am I the first having this? I did want to retry this to have a roadmap of how to get there, but I did not want to loose my jobs twice a day...

Regards
Erik

Was ths resolved?

I've been having the same issue with one of my servers. Uninstalling and reinstalling VC resolved this but I don't feel like doing that every day. I'd just finished about an hour's worth of work with a developer to finalize a job and I suspect it's been wasted.

Main error below: 1/15/2009 4:32:40 PM IPC send failed, ex: Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified.

I'll send my logfiles in as well.

I do not know. Didn't you had a backup to restore? Normally it is in the backup folder of the application installation folder.

It seems like, according to the logs, that you had some serious issues with WMI on your computer. Microsoft refers to this page with the problem you have:

http://msdn.microsoft.co...us/library/bb961987.aspx

Hard to say how this is related to the Jobs but it seems like you had this problem already the 13th so the problem must have appeared earlier.

I have had this issue twice now. the first time, I had the server rebooted and it seemed to fix the problem. I have everything running on one server. So, what is it referring to when it says "The system cannot find the file specified"? I have tried stopping and restarting the VisualCron service and I still get this error.

We just had this same issue today.... This is insane - trying to perform a reinstall now...

Update: Had to reinstall and reimport my settings from a backup.

Seems to have fixed the problem - but this is a scary problem to have.

1. Which version are you running?
2. Please send your log_serverDATE.txt from the day you rebooted to support@visualcron.com

Did the files I sent help?

Not trying to push, but this issue has me on edge...

Thanks,
