Hi,

Where is the PrevTask Variable located? Or how do you implement it - is it as below?:

{DATEFORMAT(dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm)} {TASK(PrevTask,Result.CopiedFilesSource)} - file: {TASK(PrevTask,Result.CopiedNames)} to {TASK(PrevTask,Result.CopiedFilesDestination)}

I can't get this to work.... the log file simply contains the following:

04/05/2010 10:49 [Job does not exist or is not selected] - file: [Job does not exist or is not selected] to [Job does not exist or is not selected]

There are two tasks above the write file task.

First you need the latest version which is currently in beta forum.

It does not exist in the Variable tree right now so you just need to replace the Task Id with PrevTask just like you did.

Where did you use this Variable, on a Notification attached to Job or Task. Or in the File write Task?

File write task. I thought this could be a solution to the suggestion I sent you via email but so far I don't think it will work.

we have fixed these issues for next version. In next version, please use the updated Variable key "CopiedFilesNames" not "CopiedNames".

I tried the PrevTask variables in version 5.5.9 and got the same result as before:

10/05/2010 11:22 [Job does not exist or is not selected] - file: [Job does not exist or is not selected] to [Job does not exist or is not selected]

So then I tried the new Active job > Tasks > Result variables and got this result:

10/05/2010 11:29 [Unknown argument in: TASK(eed79171-5f6c-4f54-b9da-a0bac76db715,Result.CopiedFilesSource)] - file: [Unknown argument in: TASK(eed79171-5f6c-4f54-b9da-a0bac76db715,Result.CopiedFilesNames)] to [Unknown argument in: TASK(eed79171-5f6c-4f54-b9da-a0bac76db715,Result.CopiedFilesDestination)]

Interestingly, when I look at the Value Previews for the first variable above (in the active job node) this is what is displayed:

"[Error in SetVariables, string: {TASK(eed79171-5f6c-4f54-b9da-a0bac76db715,Result.CopiedFilesSource)}, err: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.]"

The same error message is given for the others too.

Perhaps we can do some screen sharing this afternoon as we cannot reproduce this.

We know that local view of the Variable does not work because that information is not sent to the Client - we will however provide a better message than the error message.
