I might be misunderstanding the principle behind file tasks...

I specify a folder path and a file mask - where the mask includes today's date i.e. MDD_{DATEFORMAT(yyyyMMdd)}.txt

When the file (with today's date extention) is not found, I expect the task to either stop, or log an error/output to that extent and preferably not process subsequent tasks and send a notification.
yet for File Touch and File Rename the processing continues? Is that correct?

I am using VC 5.4.7

Thanks

The Task does not stop but only continues on files that are matching the filter.

On those files that have been "touched" did you feel that they weren't matching the filter?

On the file filter configuration tab I specified the folder and the 'Include file mask'. I then ran the Show Filtered Files on the Test tab. There was no result. i.e. the file doesn't exist - yet when I run the task, it completes succesfully - even though the file does not exist?!

BTW - I am now trying for the same result using a File Condition setting. But I would like to know (for other jobs) whether the above behaviour is as expected.

Yes, that is how it is designed right now, that we don't raise any error if no file is found. I suggest you create a post in the Feature requests forum if you want an error to be raised if not file is found.
