Hello,
I have an event trigger that I've setup to monitor the event log for errors from an application. The job will run if I run it manually. However as soon as I activate the job I get the following error message. "A trigger was inactivated due to an error: Provider Failure The trigger was connected to the job: ...."

I have deleted and reset this job a few times and get the same error message. It is a very simple trigger event. It just looks for the Error event type and a keyword in the source for the event.

Does anyone know what could be causing the activation problem?

Probably because something is wrong with the settings of the Trigger. Like you are monitoring a Log that does not exist. Please view the log window to get more information why.

Maybe it's because I'm not monitoring a specific log, but just trying to monitor the log in general. I have not monitored a log before. This makes sense. Let me make some adjustsments and re-try this. Thanks for your response.

I am having this problem, how did you resolve it.

I was not able to solve it. We are now using a tool called ipmonitor to monitor our event logs. Thanks,

If you both are looking at the "event type" it mail fail in current public version. This is fixed in latest beta.

I am a registered version 4 user and was hoping I did not need to upgrade this server to a newer version. I am getting a new server going and we will be upgrading it.

Is the beta for version 4 or 5?
