Hello,

Lately, VC has started to fail in odd ways on our server.

The service seems to get locked up, so we restart it. When restarted, the local client can no longer connect. Please see attached screenshot for error message.

Due to this, the tray no longer connects, so foreground execution fails for any job that uses it.

There are also intermittent issues with remote clients connecting after a service restart, that seem to resolve on their own over time.

Do you have any advice on these issues?

Thank you,

Michael Biasetti

Hmm...our server locked up...possibly due to other reasons, but upon rebooting everything worked great.

Have you had experiences with other users that have had port/connection issues over time? Is there anything we can do to prevent them? This isn't the first time we've seen the IPC error.

Thanks.

While IPC can be locked up by third party apps or operative systems it is not common. A workaround is, during that time, connect locally with the remote login settings:

* uncheck "Is local"
* use the computername/dnsname/ip instead of localhost on "host/server"
