I have a weekly task that uploads five files of varying size -
4.4 KB - > 232 KB
Last week it took four hours and eleven minutes, but it finally succeeded.
This week it took over four hours and 28 minutes to fail with:

Exception in Task: Failed to upload file: ... ______________ ... , err: Permission denied

The FTP connection had not been changed. I tried the exact same transfer in FileZilla, (same files, connection, credentials etc,) and all five files were successfully transferred in just over three minutes.
Is there anything I can do to speed up the transfer in the vcron task?
We are on vcron version 9.3.0.
Thanks.

Peggy,
Did you ever get an answer for this?
I am having the same issue.

Thanks,
Jim

No Jim.
):
Still takes a VERY long time. Luckily, it doesn't fail often. If you ever find a solution, let me know!

Thanks and good luck.

Permission denied is one thing and slow upload another.

@Gruler - do you get permission denied as well?

For you with upload speed problems - are you having same issues with all FTP servers?

Hi Henrik,

The particular FTP server that prompted me to raise the issue is definitely the slowest of any of the servers upon which we transfer files. The other ones seem slower than a manual FileZilla transfer too but they aren't so bad they error out.

Thanks!

I think we can expect that Filezilla is faster - as the main purpose of FileZilla is only transfer but the question is how slow we are talking about. Do you think our developers can test downloading/uploading from your FTP to see what is happening?

Hi Henrik! Thanks for the offer. The particular FTP server that takes the longest of all is not ours - it is one of our vendors. Our IT security guy will not approve giving access to you. But! He is very willing to get on a call with you and we could show you settings? If you are up for that, let us know times that might work.

Thanks!

Unfortunately that will not help us improve/troubleshoot as we will have to test it from our environment. If he would be willing to give us a test account to use, it would be much easier for us to look at and possibly improve this.
