Version 8.3.5. While doing some testing that required me to repeatedly reset a user defined variable, I found that the window to change the value did not actually open until I moved the mouse.

To recreate, go to server/global objects and click on variables. Expand user defined variables. Double-click a variable but hold the mouse perfectly still. When you move the mouse the Edit variable window will only then open.
