Several tasks assigned to on Job running batch invoicing executables on a remote server. They are executing fine as we can see the updates occurring as they should when those run. However, the tasks in visualcron never finish or carry on to the next task, they stay at 99% indefinitely. Not sure how to troubleshoot because the job log, task log and system logs are all blank. No log file in user directory either. "Stop task" doesn't work in these cases, we have to shut down the service and restart the software to get the task to stop. Any ideas?

Are you talking about the Remote execute Task? If yes, please check "Use fallback method" in that Task.

Hi thanks for your suggestion. Yes this is remote execute task. When I turn on 'use fallback method', the jobs immediately fail with exit code 77777 The RPC server is unavailable. When its not active the jobs run fine but I have to kill the service to get the job to stop.

Turns out that option 'use fallback method' is causing some firewall issues that cuse the RPC error. We turned off firewalls and it worked with fallback turned on. Would you happen to know the ports and services visualcron is using in this instance to access the remote server?

This seems to be fixing some issues I was having as well with the same symptoms. I don't see this feature documented in the documentation. It might be helpful to update the docs describing the usefulness of this flag.
