What I mean by "declarative configuration" is the ability to configure VisualCron from an xml or json file.

The ultimate goal is to be able to quickly and accurately reproduce our production environment so we can test code changes to our product that relies on VisualCron for background services. We want to do this from an automated process NOT by having someone go in and install visual cron and manually change a bunch of things in the client to get it to work. The latter is how we are currently doing it and it's a PITA.

In VisualCron you have Import and Export of settings. It produces 1 files that can be easily moved. You can also control exactly which settings should be exported or imported. The export itself can be automated in a Task (like a backup of settings).

Is it possible to import export using the API? How do I perform an automated install of visual cron?

Yes, it is possible to export and import via the API. Everything you can do in the Client can be done through the API as the Client is using the API itself.

Regarding installation you can download the zip download and there you have to batch files for command line installation.
