Hi,

I want to copy a file into the same folder with a different name. Is it me, or can't I do this?

This is a solution:
I can copy it to an other folder, I can rename the file there and I can copy the file back to the original folder.

I thought I can do this with one task. With the steps from above I have to create a temp folder...

I can use a command task and use the DOS COPY command for it..

Am I missing something here?

I have now set it up with the execute command. See the screenshot. The file is being copied into the same folder but with a different name.

If I use the file copy task I can only copy it to a different folder.

If I use the file rename task, I can rename the file in the same directory, but I loose the original file.

What I miss is something to copy the file to a different name into the same folder.

I thought you were talking about a problem with Copy files Task - why do you not use that one?

I want to solve this with the file copy taks, but (I think I'm getting stupid over here 😕) in the file copy task I can give a source folder, the source name and the destination folder.

I should have something like this: source folder, source name, destination folder, destination name

or

a checkbox which allowes me to keep the original in the file rename task.

Am I missing something?
