Hey all,
I have a kinda weird question. I have a colocated server that provides authoritative DNS for my domain. I have my PBX system at a different location, on a cable modem that periodically the provider changes IP's on. Once this happens I manually have to change the IP address for the host record on my DNS server otherwise incoming calls don't work. I already have a dynamic IP monitoring util on my workstation that checks for changes and emails me the new IP if this happens. Currently, I have to log into the DNS box and update the host record for the PBX, which is becoming a real PITA, however I would like to know if there is a way to have VC watch or get notified of the IP change, connect to the DNS box and update the host record and then reload the zone. I'm running MS DNS server on Win 2003 server. Has anyone done this? TIA to all.

I think a script or small program is best for change and update that DNS box. However, the actual detection of the IP change may be something we could add (a Trigger) in VisualCron. Please post to Features requests that you would like a IP change Trigger and we'll keep this thread open for further input on connecting and updating.
