We had an issue with JobIDs just this month.
The scenario is that we have multiple VC servers installed on different servers. The client is moving some jobs from Server 1 to Server 2 and we found out that some of the JobIds from server1(source server) have the same JobIDs to Server2 (destination server). See attached pic1.jpg
Now the issue that's happening when we're using the Export feature of VC is that it overwrites the destination's job that has the same JobId from the source server.



REQUEST: If possible to have a feature that generates new JobIDs on export.

I have hit this issue too and made a request to warn on clone/copy if a job or task ID already exists and give the option to overwrite or create a new ID.

I am expecting a reply from VC support if this is possible. This request is 3months now. We're having issues when cloning the jobs to other VC servers.

It is possible. We just weigh this in among other requests. Currently we have a back log of things to do.
