Hi!

This is a very minor issue as I can turn off the version check:

For some reason my company firewall does not allow my VC client to connect to the internet directly from my workstation. This means that online validation and version check fail when I start the client.

We have an http proxy in our environment and when I put in the IP/port/credentials, the online validation error disappeared but the version check still fails. Is it not configured to use the proxy?

Thank you.
Server and client version: 8.3.3.

Proxy settings are separated into Client and Server settings. Please set proxy settings in both Client and Server settings.

I am aware that server and client have separate proxy settings.

The server was already set up to use the http proxy.

It was when i put the proxy in the Client settings that the validation worked - but the version check still fails.

So either:
1: The version check does not utilize the http proxy in the client (like the validation process does) or
2: The version check needs more resources than our http proxy can deliver

Just for clarification, are you talking about the "Update status" button in window with title "Server license problem"? Or are you talking about checking for new versions?

I am talking about the automatic checks at startup of the client: A version check (this doesnt work) and a license check (this worked when i changed the client settings and added a http proxy).

When the client starts a pop-up notifies that the version check cannot connect to your update server/service.

I just verified and we do use Client proxy settings when checking for new version. Can you send a screenshot how your proxy settings look like and what proxy server you use?

Can you send the untouched image to support@visualcron.com? But you are saying you use the exact same settings for Activation online as well? It uses the same proxy settings.

I have removed the proxy settings, and the license check still seems to work. Strange.

I use the proxy in my browser without login (even though it resides in a different domain) with no problem.

I have tried the settings with or without credentials, but the version check still doesn't work.

Can you test now to Deactivate license and Activate license to see if that works?

I have found the issue. The proxy I was using blocked the update check.

Changing the proxy in the CLIENT settings to a less sensitive proxy was enough.

Thank you for letting me to the solution.
