We are using Version 8.2.7 and the trigger filtering is still not working when trying to filter by log name,source and description contains
I tried version 8.2.8 this works only when you filter by log file and event type once you add description contains the trigger does not work

I would try with no even log filters to start with to see tha you at least get events. If not there might be a couple of reasons;

1. test locally first (not on remote) and with a Credential
2. test with no filters
3. look for errors in log_serverDATE.txt
