Trying to configure an Event Trigger on a particular machine and getting "Trigger error: The RPC server is unavailable".

Also, is there any way to make it possible to copy from the Log screens? I know we can export, but to export the whole log just so that I can copy and paste error messages and such is a pain.

Have not seen that error before. Sounds like it is a configuration issue. Perhaps you can post a screenshot of the settings?

Copy from output or the realtime log?

It seems like a communication error between servers. What operating systems are we talking about at server and remote and what VC version?

The server is localhost. OS is Windows 10 Pro 1703 (happened on 1607 as well).

Unfortunately, the error is too generic and gives us little detail what it could be.

So what additional info do you need? You asked for the "realtime log", but I don't know what you mean.

The "realtime log" is the Log window in VisualCron. But in this case RPC error is a communication problem between two servers (using WMI). This happens on a very low level and VisualCron cannot provide more information than the remote server cannot be contacted for communication.

I'm getting the same error on a previously-working job after upgrading to 8.2.7. The job uses a trigger on the Event Log. After the upgrade, VC disabled the trigger with the "RPC Server unavailable" message.

Output:

Exception in Task: Connection timeout (error code is 73730)

Screenshots and log attached. I've tried with credentials and without, same result. I run the service as a local administrator account, but I've tried as Local System as well, same result.

Instead of "." use "localhost" or servername or IP.

Yes, changing it to localhost worked for me as well.

Great, we will make this transparent for the next version so you can use both.
