I am new to VisualCron, and am evaluating it as a potential Enterprise Job Scheduler for our company. I have installed VisualCron on one server and it works fine. I intend to use this server as our central VisualCron server and run all jobs for all servers from here. However in attempting to create connections to other servers on our network I keep getting the following error:
Connection failed to servername. Connection failed with error 'Connection refused. (10061)'
In Manage Servers, Add/Update server, I leave the check boxes unchecked, enter my server name in the appropriate field, leave the port as 16444 and leave the username as admin. Then when I go to connect I get the above error.
Any assistance would be gratefully accepted.

In the manage servers window you manage other visualcron servers. You say you have only one. This might be why.

Uses Visualcron since 2006.

Could also be a firewall or wrong dns/ip. The port that needs to be open is 16444 by default.

Thanks, Erik. I installed VisualCron on my other server and it worked. Newbie error. Thanks also Henrik for your help so far.
Now that I've done that I am having trouble setting up a dependency between jobs on my two servers. I have Job B on Server2 that is dependent on Job A on Server1. How and where do I set up that dependency?

Currently we don't have any cross server dependency unless you are using a Condition for example - that looks on a file on a shared drive.

We will probably add these functionality later when we move towards more enterprise features.

Thanks, Henrik. I'll look further into using the file idea, but cross server dependency would definitely be a winner with us.

Do you have a timeframe you are working toward for cross server dependencies? If it's too far off it may be a show stopper for us.

We don't have any time frame on that yet. If you want detailed control now you can always use the API.
