Hi Brian / Henrik,

We have dropped the latest 8.0.5 Beta on our Test Server with TLS 1.0 disabled.

We have not had the same joy as Brian - for us it still does not connect - sorry.

Happy to test a later 8.0.5 Beta if that helps.

Regards

Kevin

Darn. Now I wonder what is up with my test system being ok with it. Time to reevaluate and retest. But honestly, i'm glad it didn't mysteriously get fixed haha. I know from a developers standpoint, that'd make me reexamine every character in the code if it did. 'crisis averted'. 🙂. I'm using a Windows 10 Pro laptop to do my testing. I left all the registry keys entered for disabling TLS 1.0/1.1 and enabling TLS 1.2 and would install version after version, rebooting each time, and checking to see whether i could connect to itself (though 'local' is unchecked). Maybe i missed a reboot when doing 8.0.5 latest beta's upgrade and it worked then. i'll stop posting here and go back to the other thread. :)

I have noticed this on 8.0.4 so not yet tested in 8.0.5.
Is this something that can be added to 8.0.5?
Thanks

We will add this later so unfortunately it will not make it for 8.0.5.

Could I ask that when the above is put in that the default Client Setting options for "Show Job Start and Stop Notifications" is unchecked for the web client?
Thanks

Unfortunately it is more likely that we leave it on as default in order to show that the feature exist and then, optionally, the user can turn it off.

Thank you for the new feature SSRS.
Overall, nice enhancement, a little room for growth

Main Settings tab works

Parameters tab works (with notes below on multi-selection)
  • Works on report with no parameters

  • Works on report with basic parameters

  • Reports with multi-selection parameters - not sure if not working or user error in defining. Tried CSV value1,value2 and CSVSingleQuoted 'value1','value2'. Exected outcome report limited to two items in list. Actual outcome, used neither parameter value.

Destination tab works with non-show-stopper items.
  • When clicking "Explorer" icon, nothing happens. Work-around enter Folder path manually.

  • Excel exports as .xls and is not compatible with .xlsx. The default for current gen's is .xlsx. Can this be driven by ServiceType 2005/2010 selection?

Have a great day

Thanks for the feedback!

* We have now fixed the Folder browser click issue.
* We do not alter the output in any way. You need to use the Convert Task for this to get the right excel format. It does not matter which version of reporting service as that web service is used for discovery and not execution.
* I am not sure what you mean about your CSV but we just insert data for execution as save in the Task

Final version, which was named 8.1.0 (to mark som major changes) was released today. Thank you for all your testing and feedback.

The progress bar is still beta and can be turned off but we would be happy to know any test cases where the progress bar behave strange in the final 8.1.0 version.

Good morning,
Were you ever able to find anything on the below problem we've been having with Zip files getting deleted?

Thanks,
Matthew

Good morning,
We've noticed an error in the .zip file process that looks to be deleting the .zip file when trying to add files to the archive. See logs below:

The job starts by copying files from another server to this server, and then finishes with adding the files to a .zip file. However, the files never get added to the zip archive and the original .zip file gets deleted.

We have about 15 jobs like this that started failing with deleted zip files since we upgraded to version 8.01. We recently upgraded to version 8.04 hoping it would have been resolved (per some update notes from 8.02), but the problem continues. This problem doesn't occur every day, but it does happen several times a week. We are having to restore the original .zip file from the previous days backup to get the data back.

Please let me know if you need any other info.

Out of curiosity only: Is the progress bar based on the historical runtimes of the tasks?

Yes, we thought it was fixed too. There must be some kind of difference when it fails from when it doesn't. Please try to put away files and settings from when it has failed and send us all details so we can reproduce this.
