Hello,

is it possible to define a generic SSH connection with a variable hostname, so that the
hostname to connect to can be provided by a vc variable?

Yes, you should be able to use a Variable in the Task. I cannot promise that it works in the Connection explorer. Please test both.

Hi Henrik,

I created a SSH connection with a generic server name and {USERVAR(SwitchName)} in the IP Address field.
'SwitchName' is initialized with the IP Address of a Switch to connect to.
During fill out the 'Address' field VC seems to do some verification. Is that possible?
After testing this connection I got the error:

Exception in Task: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found

Thanks for the confirmation. We have now updated this for the next build - so Variables can be used.

Hello Henrik,

thanks for your answer.
I need this functionality immediately, otherwise I have do define hundred's of connections.
Not really workable.
Could you estimate the date when the new release will be available?
