The file copy task has the ability to filter on dates. As seen in the attached photo, the greater than and less than signs are backwards. For filtering older dates, it should be "Modified Date > VARIABLE", for filtering newer dates, it should be "Modified Date < VARIABLE".

I don't think that is wrong.

Modified date refers to the modified date on the file.

Modified date < (less than/older than) your specified date

Simpliefied:

File created 2004 < your year 2005

Ah, ok, my mistake. I was thinking about this dialog incorrectly in that the modified date was substituted on the right side of the equation rather than the left side.
