Hi Support,
My company has VC 5.8.1 installed, it's working very well several years.
Now we're moving VC to the new server and want to install VC 8.0.1. Please answer couple questions that I can't find an answer on your website.
1. What's the price of the single license of VC 8.0.1?
2. Is it possible to move all settings from VC 5.8.1 to VC 8.0.1 with the regular "export settings/import settings" or we need to use any special procedure for that? Difference as big as 3 versions makes me to worry.

Hi,

1. please contact sales@visualcron.com for pricing
2. the export function will not work but you will be able to upgrade on top of old. There are a lot of things that have changed - for the better. There are some settings and changes you need to be aware of listed here:

http://www.visualcron.co...from_visualcron_5_x_.htm
http://www.visualcron.co...from_visualcron_6_x_.htm

From version 7 to 8 is there not any special changes that require attention.

Thank you Henrik,
I contacted sales, Dennis adviced me to purchase a license (SKU#32) to upgrade v.5 to v.6 to v.7 to v.8 successively, to be able to keep all jobs and settings. So I did.
Now I can't find how to download versions 6 and 7. The "Download" page (http://www.visualcron.com/Download.aspx) contains links of v.8 and 4.9 only.
Could you please send me the links to v.6 and v.7?

Henrik,
I need to update my current version 5.8.1 to v.8
I have renewed the outdated license, now I need update it step by step to v.6 then to v.7
How I can get installers of v6. and v7?
The "Download" page contain a link to the last version only.

Hi,

you update directly to version 8. No need to update to any version inbetween.

I have about 100 jobs that are working almost 24x7, and they are critical for production.
If I upgrade directly to 8.04 what will happen with them? The problem is I can't rollback to v5 if jobs will not be working after upgrade.
Actually, I can rephrase the question.
My real need is to migrate existing jobs (that are currently running under VC 5.8.1) to another server (newer one) that already has VC 8.04 installed and licensed.
Maybe I can just save setting and import them from the new instance?

Yes, if it is a new server it is easier and I suggest the following:

1. install latest version in new server
2. Start the client and turn server Off
3. stop the service on the new server
4. delete the files in the settings folder of the new server except license.xml)
5. copy all files from old server settings folder except license.xml and server_settings.xml
6. start the VisualCron service on new server
7. disable all Jobs
8. set server to On
9. enable Jobs one by one or several at time which you are ready to run on new server

Ok, thank you Henrik for detailed instructions, I meant something like that. That was pretty helpful.
Best regards.
