in our company we run an sftp server for many customers.
Now we restricted SSL Cipher Suite to strong settings in in sshd_config to

Ciphers aes256-ctr,aes128-ctr
MACs hmac-sha2-512-etm@openssh.com,hmac-sha2-256-etm@openssh.com,umac-128-etm@openssh.com,hmac-sha2-512,hmac-sha2-256,hmac-ripemd160
KexAlgorithms diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha256,diffie-hellman-group14-sha1,diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha1

Different sftp clients like current WinSCP, putty .. have no problems, but since our settings change VisualCron clients are not able to connect anymore, so our customers, which is a pain for them!

The error is:
Connection failes to 'server'. Connection failed with error:
Expected record type PreambleAck, found 83.
Do you want to try reconnecting?

Now I downloaded your client, and can confirm this.

What is the solution ?

Which version of VisualCron are you running? Please test with latest.

If it does not work with latest would it be possible to supply us with a test account? Please email any details to support@visualcron.com

Issue resolved in 7.7.2 (client issue only). Server works if you uncheck "Auto adjust MAC algorithm" in Encryption dialog of Connection settings.

We also noticed that you are using it wrong. You connect to the VisualCron Server on default ports. It seems like you tried to put SFTP connection settings in the VisualCron Server connection. You need to put SFTP settings in the Manage Connections window.

It does not work this way. You can only connect to VisualCron servers here. Please look at the video tutorials http://www.visualcron.com/Tutorials.aspx  about Getting started to see how it works.
