5.0.4 installed successfully; but the import does not appear to be working.

I tried to import jobs from another server for testing. If I try it with "update", I see no added jobs to the existing default jobs. If I try it with "clear", it clears the default server jobs, without importing jobs from the other server. When glancing through the global settings, it appears that everything else is present from the other server - conditions, connections, user-defined variables, pgp key rings, time exceptions, etc - just no jobs.

From what I recall we have not changed anything in import/export. That leads me to the possibility that the Jobs are empty in the file. What if you open the .zip file and open the Jobs.xml. Is it less than 1k then it is empty. If it is not empty then please send us your file to support@visualcron.com.

I still have problem with on error and the user interface information:

Use the FTP download task to download some files from a FTP server. Enter a wrong target path.
Setup the on error on the task: wait 1s and retry 5 times.

Now The job fails, but the task is succesful. There is no task output.

I want to see which task failed in the job. You can not see it like this.

Without the on error setup it is ok though.

Eric,

just so I have understood you right: You are expecting VisualCron to return an error if the last attempt fail, right?

If there is an error in the task, I want to see a mark on this task that it failed, just like a task with the default on error setup.
Normally you see Failed in the task when it went wrong. You see the output of the task, etc. In the case I described, you can not see this (there is also no output at the task level), you see only at the job level that there is something wrong. You have to figure out which task failed....

I have one job in my list that gives me a popup message when I open the job (double click on it) and close the job by clicking on the OK button. It telles me:

A job with that name already exists. You have to use a unique name.

I only have one job with this name. If I change the name and close the job, the job window closes.
If I re-open the job and change the name back to what is was, I do not receive the message any more, but...

Now if I re-open the job and close it again, the popup is back....

If I login into the ftp server it telles me it is a DDS FTP server. That's the info I have. In version 4.9.40 it is working though.

The code has been replaced from 4.9.40. And for some odd FTP servers we have to create custom list parsning. We think we will be able to do this from this information you specified.

Eric, is it possible to test connecting to your server? Also, the format is very strange. Especially the date that varies in format.

While we're on the topic of adding custom parsing for strange FTP servers....

How about doing so for MVS FTP servers? These usually run on a mainframe operating system. Unfortunately, I can't give you access to our FTP server, or I will have my head chopped off.. But is there anything else I can provide you like Erik did that can potentially help you add support for MVS FTP servers?

Thanks!

Yes, try to download a file with the latest version from a folder that both has directories and files. You will then get similar errors like Erik, please paste them here.

hmm, It's not our FTP server, it's from FTSE(.com). And the DDS Server stands for Data Delivery System.... so not a real ftp server name...

We do not have a test account for this server. I can ask if this is possible,...

It is probably not needed. We have written a parser according to your log. We will upload a new version any minute (attaching to this post). We need you to test this and also return with a result from the log file. After running the Task you should have a ServerName string in the log. We need this to make the parsing more exact for this FTP type.

Erik: Please also test the problem with Retry and exit code with this version.

mxm0q1n: Please download this version and give us both ServerName property in log file and the similar output as Erik sent.

I think the problem might be that your Server does not support the command for retrieving server name. We have to find something else. We will get back to you later today.
