Good Day,

I'm assisting a client who run's this software with an issue. We run an FTP over SSL explicit server that requires login. They have setup the connection to our server, but when ever the job runs, it fails.

Through the explorer I can browse the server and even copy the test file from the server to my local pc, but the second I try do this as an automated job it fails. I get the following error.

Version is V7.1.6 - Requires change control to upgrade, so not an option at this point.

So, it seems to be a problem with a path. This does not look like a valid Windows path:

c:\/Test.txt

Yes, I also noticed this, but when setting up the source and destination (BTW the fact that you have a browse button and no select folder button is very irritating) the source is / and the destination is C:\ the software adds that, not me.

I am not sure what you mean by the browse buttons? Maybe you are mixing up download with upload?

Please let us know the command you are trying to accomplish, screenshots and which button is irritating.

Browse button - Irritation.

Browse Button

So now you have found your folder that you want to select, where is the select button????

Where do you now select the folder?

Then this is how I have configured my source and destination

I'm trying to move the test file, to my local c:\ as a test.

Config Remote

Destination.

I see what you mean. I would not see that irritating. It is just a link to the built in explorer - a nice feature I would say. But you can click "Copy to clipboard" to get the folder.

We could not reproduce the error in the latest version. Could you please test the latest version whenever possible (you could try it on your desktop to see if it works better at least if you are not able to upgrade server yet).

It is irritating Henrik, because 99% of all other windows based software works this way. So when you spend ten minutes trying to find something, deleting everything because you think you did something wrong hence it not bringing up the option and starting over... it is very irritating.

Upgrading is not an option, with a 3 month change cycle at the client on something that needs to be fixed now, an upgrade isn't an option.

I do think _very_ few other Windows software opens a browser that is compatible of viewing remote FTP and SFTP content. But you may have other experience on that.

It is just not _any_ folder browser.

But either way I recommend testing it on your desktop to see if there is a generic problem or something with settings.

I think there is some misunderstanding here of how this browser works. It is not only for browsing a directory and hence a select button doesn't make sense in all contexts.
Once you are used to the 'Copy to Clipboard' button then it works well.

Not that Visual Cron doesn't have a few GUI idiosyncrasies 😂
