Hello Everyone,

Today we have noticed that one of our jobs consistently fails, no matter if it is run by the system or by users. Attached is a picture of the log file with the errors.

Thanks in advance!

I think we need some more background information. What kind of Task type is it and have you checked the standard error output column to determine the cause?

Hello Henrik,

This is an snmp set task. This task has been working in the past, but seemed to fail lately. I have attached two screenshots of the logs. We seem to be getting a 77777 error, which upon searching seems to be a general error.

Thanks,
Blake

I do not see the column names for the Task in our screenshot. Please look in the standard output and standard error columns for any error description.

You'll need to double click on the output on one of those lines (as it states in your screenshot) in order to see the output Henrik is asking for.

I also found this error on another 77777 error. The error messaged looks like this:

Exception in Task: Exception of type 'Lextm.SharpSnmpLib.Messaging.SharpTimeoutException' was thrown.

So something seems to be causing these jobs to time out. I have multiple jobs that do an snmp set, but for some reason they will occasionally time out. I wouldn't think that 30 seconds is too short, but is it? Is there something else that could cause these jobs to error out like this?

Thanks,
Blake

There is only one property that affects this and that is the timeout property on the Task. Try increasing it. It seems that it either takes too long from the VC side or that it times out on the server side (SNMP server).

Hello Henrik,

I upgraded the server up to the latest release, and I have not seen any failures. The job is now completing in about 3-7 seconds on average and our timeout is at 30 seconds. We have currently been running on this configuration for about two days with no issue. I will post again if I see any more issues.

Thanks,
Blake
