I am attempting a connection to an sftp site using username/password login. While I can connect successfully using filezilla, when I attempt the connection in VisualCron, I get:
Server key recieved, fingerpritn it xxxxxxxxx
Authentication type 4 failed
SFTP Error 114
Connection lost (error code is 10058)

Do you use password or public key auth?

Password, it's what we are using to connect when we connect with Filezilla

First try to uncheck "Auto auth" and just check "Password auth".

If that does not work try unchecking specific SFTP versions in "Extra settings" of the Connection.

I am really unsure where to uncheck 'auto auth' and where to check "Password auth"

Open the Connection where all settings are stored. Then go to Authentication tab.

In the Authentication window, I am only seeing:

Authentication Type: Password
Username: Username
Password: ********

Public key
Private Key file: Nothing is entered here
Password: nothing is entered here

I do not see 'auto auth' there.

Maybe you are using an older version then. New version provides more alternatives when connecting.

I have upgraded to the latest version, and have unchecked "auto auth', then just checked "password auth"

I have also tried each one of the specific SFTP version in "Extra Settings", and I am still getting the same error.

Any other ideas?

I am now pretty sure that the error indicates that you are using the wrong password or username. Please double check.
