I'm currently evaluating VC 7.0.7. After the install installer hangs, trying to start the VC Service. Starting the service manually, either from the tray client or directly, results in a message stating that the start failed because the application didn't respond. However, during the service start, I can for a short time telnet to port 16444, so it did start. If I start the VisualCronService.exe directly, it runs just fine. It seems the service somehow kills the running executable. I tried different users to run the service with full admin rights. The VC server log doesn't show anything strange.
What can I do to fix the VC service?
