Just making sure, per the documentation VisualCron is compatible with Windows 7; however we are on an older version so just confirming one way or the other. I couldn't find System Requirements for each version so if I missed it let me know.

It should be compatible. It is just about .NET version 2.0 and no other special dependencies. I know there are some minor bugs fixed concerning Windows 7 and forward but probably no that will affect you.

One thing I found, at least for the version 4.6.17, is that when we went to install it on a 2003 server that was fully patched/updated, we had issues. The problem was .NET 2.0 Might not be an issue on every system, but for us it was becuase .NET 2.0 was up to SP2 and I think the installer for 4.6.17 is expecting a plain-jane .NET 2.0 with no service packs. We had to uninstall all of the .NET updates to get back to a basic .NET 2.0, Install the product, and then we could update .NET with the latest patches/Service Packs.

Just something to consider. I'm hoping it was isolated to us ;-)

So, if we upgrade to VisualCron v6 we'll be fine with Windows7.

The latest version of VC supports all OS's since and including WinXP.

Per the download page:

"VisualCron works on the following operative systems: XP/2003/2008/2012/Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8"

Note to Henrik, not sure if 'operative' is a word used due to this being an internationally sold product, or if it was a typo for 'operating'. 🙂 Thought i'd ask.

Also, I haven't tried it, but I am not sure if you can upgrade directly from version 4.x to version 6.x or not. Might have to go from version 4.x to 5.x, and then from 5.x to 6.x, though again, i'm not sure.
