Error in task sql: Write on "\\SQLClusDiffBackup\K$\mssqlbackup\dwayprod_lum_appl\dwayprod_lum_appl_20120905_0045_diff.bak" failed: 121(The semaphore timeout period has expired.) A nonrecoverable I/O error occurred on file "\\SQLClusDiffBackup\K$\mssqlbackup\dwayprod_lum_appl\dwayprod_lum_appl_20120905_0045_diff.bak:" 64(The specified network name is no longer available.).
BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

This is a failure on one of our database differential backup tasks. Could this be related to the .NET version? This is in version 6.1.2. We are testing 6.1.5 and working through errors there as well.

Yes, this is a .NET bug. I think it is related to connection pooling. Perhaps you can turn pooling off in the Connection. Maybe it helps with increasing timeout? Please test and get back to us.

Hi Henrik,

There is no way that I can see where we can set the Pooling parameter on a SQL connection. Can you please send us some steps on how to do that?
The command timeout is set to either 0 or 1800 seconds. Does 0 mean unlimited?

Thanks,
