Is there any way to get an event trigger to fire when a file is closed?

Based on what action do you like this trigger to fire?
A file closed action can be e.g. after a file create or after a file change.

So I think (based on your info) that you can use the file trigger for this.

The trigger is always fires when the file is released (check the box "Trigger after file has been released").
